Legal Action Filed Following Woman’s Death Linked to Revolving Door Incident at Las Vegas Hotel
A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed following the passing of Diana Truschke, a 78-year-old real estate agent from the San Francisco Bay Area, who suffered fatal complications allegedly stemming from injuries sustained in an incident at a Las Vegas hotel.
Truschke was visiting the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on March 21, 2023, when, according to the lawsuit, she was struck by a malfunctioning revolving door. The force of the impact reportedly propelled her several feet, causing her to fall and sustain serious injuries. The lawsuit asserts that the door suddenly accelerated in rotation while she was inside, leading to her being ejected and landing face-first onto the sidewalk.
Following the incident, Truschke was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. The extent of her injuries was not detailed in the lawsuit, but it states that they required extensive medical care. More than 18 months later, on October 14, 2024, she passed away, with her son attributing her death to complications from those injuries.
The legal complaint, filed on March 18 in Clark County, Nevada, was submitted on behalf of Truschke’s estate and its administrator, her son and sole heir, John Truschke. The lawsuit claims that the hotel was negligent in maintaining the revolving door, arguing that it posed a known safety hazard and that proper warnings or corrective measures should have been in place. It further contends that the hotel failed to adhere to health and safety regulations.
John Truschke is seeking damages exceeding $15,000 to cover medical and funeral expenses, as well as compensation for pain and suffering, loss of companionship, and other economic and emotional damages related to his mother’s injuries and subsequent passing.
The Trump Organization, which oversees Trump Hotels, has not issued a statement regarding the lawsuit. A court date for the case has not yet been scheduled.
