Twin rappers Alex “Flyysoulja” and Franky “Kodiyakredd” Venegas, collectively known as the Island Boys, gained widespread attention through TikTok in 2021, thanks to their unique appearance, including dreadlocks, full-body tattoos, and diamond-encrusted teeth. Their popularity was further fueled by the release of their rap track, “I’m an Island Boy.”
The duo continued to gain momentum with the release of a full version of their song and its accompanying music video in 2022, which sparked even more social media memes and discussions about the brothers. Additionally, a documentary titled Trolled: The Untold Island Boys Story was released the same year, providing a glimpse into their personal and professional lives, including their controversial encounters with the law.
However, it was an unexpected and controversial act by the Venegas brothers that truly captured public attention. The brothers made headlines with the release of a video on the adult platform OnlyFans, where they filmed themselves sharing a kiss. Despite the backlash they received, Kodiyakredd later revealed that the video had generated significant financial success for them.
In an interview on The Wild Podcast in February 2025, Kodiyakredd discussed his initial hesitation, admitting that he had felt vulnerable and uncertain about the decision. He shared that he had only $60,000 to his name at the time and had deliberated for three days before going through with the video. “I know what I am, I’m straight,” he stated, emphasizing that the act, while controversial, was financially rewarding. He revealed that the stunt led to earnings of around $600,000 to $700,000 per month.
The brothers defended their actions during a 2023 interview on Adam22’s podcast, explaining that, as twin brothers, they did not find the kiss to be inherently inappropriate. “We came out of the womb together, we grew up together,” Kodiyakredd explained. “It’s not really disgusting if it’s twins.” Later, he disclosed that the video had earned him $6 million, while his brother earned $8 million.
Kodiyakredd’s comments on the subject became a point of contention before a Miami MMA fight, when an opponent, Oblivion, referenced the incident. Kodiyakredd responded, “For millions of dollars, bro. The f**k? You think I’ma do that for free?”
Despite their financial success, the Venegas brothers continue to face legal challenges. Kodiyakredd was arrested in February 2025 in Naples, Florida, on drug and firearm charges, specifically for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of an altered firearm. He had previously faced legal issues, including being arrested for speeding and impersonating his twin brother to avoid a reckless driving charge. Additionally, he had been arrested for domestic battery in 2022 after an alleged altercation with his girlfriend and had been accused of domestic abuse by a former partner, though no charges were filed.
In 2021, the Venegas brothers’ home was raided by a SWAT team in connection with a manhunt for their childhood friend, Andrew James Thomas, who was wanted for first-degree murder. Thomas was later sentenced to nearly 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to a drive-by shooting.
