Steve Bannon says ‘Trump is going to prison’ if a Democrat wins 2028 presidential election

Attorneys representing the Department of Justice declined to comply with Judge Boasberg’s directive, arguing that his verbal order was not binding as it was not formally documented. Boasberg had requested additional information regarding the scheduling of flights and the number of Venezuelan passengers on board. However, according to Reuters, the Justice Department did not furnish these details.

Boasberg is currently overseeing litigation related to the Signal chat leak, a case in which Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, was mistakenly included in a Trump administration group chat where discussions about airstrikes in Yemen allegedly took place.

During a broadcast, Steve Bannon asserted that Boasberg’s involvement in yet another high-profile case linked to the Trump administration was not coincidental. He further suggested that efforts were being made to undermine former President Trump.

Bannon stated, “We are deluding ourselves if we fail to recognize that Democrats are employing every available tactic to prevent President Trump from regaining power and will go to any lengths to impeach him if they regain control of the House.”

He further claimed that, should Democrats secure a majority in the 2026 midterm elections, they would move to impeach the president for a third time. Additionally, he speculated that if Trump were to lose the 2028 election, he would face imprisonment.

Bannon warned, “If we lose in ’28, President Trump is going to prison.”

Emphasizing the gravity of the political climate, he remarked, “People are still celebrating the victories of November 4th and the inaugurations. Meanwhile, we are engaged in a political battle. If you fail to grasp this, you are not paying attention.”

Former President Trump has faced multiple legal challenges, including criminal charges in four separate cases. One of these cases resulted in a conviction on 34 counts related to falsifying business records in New York.

Bannon’s remarks sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users sharing their perspectives. Some speculated that Trump might seek to pardon himself, while others expressed approval of the prospect of legal consequences for him.

One user commented, “He will have a prison sentence waiting for him on January 20, 2029,” while another remarked, “That convinces me to vote for the Democratic candidate in 2028.”

Another individual stated, “MAGA supporters seem to thrive on portraying themselves as victims—they struggle to navigate success.”
